For safer use, it includes multiple protection systems, such as detection of alkaline or defective batteries, protection against incorrect polarity, short-circuit detection, timer control, automatic -dV cut-off for cylindrical batteries and trickle charging to optimise the charging result for AAA, AA, C and D batteries.
