The core is a ring of high durability steatite ceramic, antihygroscopic, thus avoiding effects of electrolysis corrosion.
In order to protect them from mechanical damage and to prevent variation in the pitch due to dilation caused by the heat, these potentiometers are covered in a strong ceramic cement.
